Is the end near for Crackberry?

Blackberry manufacturer RIM(Research In Motion), has been victimized by some fairly serious patent infringement cases.

It appears that the US Business is at risk, due to the latest suit reported at $1 Billion.

I wonder how many folks at PalmSource and Palm are salivating right now? If Blackberry customers were to bail in huge numbers Palm would surely benefit. In fact, it would provide an open channel to the corporate space that it sorely needs.

Hey, AG! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am still ISO a plus one. Are you interested??? LOL. So, how is Detroit? Is it snowing yet?

if this is seriously a case of patent infringement, then the ruling bodes well for other small firms who might find themselves in a future fight against big companies who steal their ideas.

Funny this is some lawyers in my firm want to file an amicus (friend of the court) brief on this. I could care less if they take my blackberry. That just makes me unavailable instead of at someone's disposal 24/7.

Yeah, I know the deal. Nobody wants an electronic leash.

You're correct. In fact, there have been reports from the UK of 'copy-cat' plaintiffs. However, I don't believe that the UK case has much merit.
