Driving to the East
I really enjoy the winter holiday season. Typically, I drive home and spend time with family and friends. Some people bless me with birthday wishes, lots of fun. Perhaps the best part of this time of year is the drive back to the East Coast. I spend roughly 10 hrs in the car, listening to mix-tapes and CDs.
In fact, I actually managed to avoid a blizzard this year. Hopefully, the snow will stay away and the drive back will be just as refreshing.

Hey AG,
This is Rochelle from ABEST. I'm trying to spread my hello's around today while working on the newsletter. I was interested in hearing about the MP3 archive you have and what exactly "real hip hop" means to you.
I hope all is well...later,
Rochelle

R:
You'll have to excuse the condition of the blog, I'm still attempting to get the styles together. I recently migrated from Blogger to the MT publishing engine. Should have things straight soon.
To answer your question:
My MP3 archive consists of Reggae, Hip-Hop and some classic R&B. I'm still looking for some House too.
What is Real Hip-Hop? The art form that represents the street culture. It has 9-Elements: Emceeing, DeeJaying, BeatBoxing, Street Knowledge, Street Language, Graffitti Art, Break Dancing, Street Entrepreneuralism,Street Fashion, Trade and Business.
Unfortunately, the 'happy meal' stuff that is played on MTV/BET doesn't reflect the 'real' art.
